I bought 4 or 5 extensions because my house is on a rise and I needed more length to reach all pine accumulations. However, when I put all the lengths together I found that they bent in a pronounced arc. Even when they were on the roof, this weakness made it difficult to manipulate the extensions.

I bought this rake about 5 years ago when I had a smaller home. It worked well. Ive since moved and live in a taller home so I bought additional extensions for the increase height. I now use 6 poles on my 45 angled roof. It gets a little wobbly while vertical but for a 30 ft pole to have plow at the end, I think it works well. No ice dams for me last winter.
