The roof rake is good and extends to the needed length for me. The head, (portion of the rake that removes the snow) is softer than I expected. It hasn’t gotten damaged yet, but it surely will over time/use. It does not take off iced up snow, or ice. If you want to clean your panels with this rake, you need to do it before the snow hardens up, otherwise you won’t get it off the panels.

Dear Roofrake:

We were told of your Roofrake from AllEnergy Solar, the company who installed our panels. We watched your YouTube video and right then and there I ordered our Roofrake. It was delivered by Fed Ex and received in a matter of days. We were very pleased with that!

I report that I did not order the Roofrake until AFTER our first snow – Lesson learned….I am now ready for next year’s first snow.

The handle is very sturdy as far as I can tell thus far. It is thicker than my regular roof rake and a bit easier to handle as it is not “floppy.” I may put a type of “rubber grippy” on the handle so when I do pull snow down off the solar panels, I have a bit better grip, as when I am wearing mittens or gloves, my hands slip on the smooth surface. That is an easy fix and merely a personal preference.

I live in Wisconsin. The first snow we got this season was that heavy, wet, ice filled, stick to everything, mess! This is the first year with our solar panels. Next lesson learned….. when snow occurs, remove the snow from the panels as soon as possible! I did not remove the snow, thinking it would just slide off, but that did not happen. And then we got more snow, and this created a sort of dam below the bottom of the panels. So I had double duty one day and had to both remove the dam from just below the panels (using my “regular roof rake”) and then planned to use my new Solar panel friendly Roofrake from you to remove the snow off the panels.

The fun part was, when I did remove the dam with my regular roof rake (not wanting to damage your Roofrake on the shingles), for the most part (with a little nudging) the snow did just slide off the panels. And your Roofrake was used to do the “nudging” and “clean up” on the panels.

The Roofrake is super easy to control with the sturdy handle. I note the head of the Roofrake being foam is maybe just a touch physically light. But I am no engineer. One would not want it too heavy as one would not want to smack if on a panel, risking breakage. However, these panels are supposed to be pretty tough to withstand weight and impact (hail). And that being said, of course adding a pound or two of weight to be able to pull snow down instead of kind riding over the top and having to repeat that action a few times, may be a horse a piece. And once the snow is “moving” down a panel, it tends to stay in motion until the snow gets to the shingles. And I use my other roof rake on the shingles, as I mentioned.

Since removal of the initial snow, and removal of the snow build up below the panels, your Roofrake is great and very helpful. I am pleased with the purchase and very pleased with delivery, quality and price. Thank you.

I am very pleased with my Snow Pro. I have only used it a couple of times, but it is very effective at removing snow. It is not great at removing ice build-up, but I did not expect it to be able to do this (soft head on the Snow Pro vs. hard ice - the sun is the only remedy for ice on solar panels). I can not state how long the soft foam on the Snow Pro head will last (there are bolts holding the panels to the panel frames which stick up above the panels themselves), but I am taking care not to pull the Snow Pro head across those bolts if possible. Even if the head only last one or two seasons, the increase energy production from the panels after the snow is removed makes this purchase well worth the money if I have to replace the head every season or two.

The snow pro is nicely balanced and can be adjusted to find

a balance point. It's not cumbersome, but takes some time.

A wider head would be nice.
