I ordered this product to remove snow from our roof mounted solar panels. Results will vary depending on the consistency of the snow.

This is pretty great and does what I need. The missing star is because in cold weather (which is 100% of the time when I am using this) the locking mechanisms on the pole extension can freeze making it difficult to extend the pole. But I always manage to get it unstuck eventually.

I bought this with the 22 foot long heavy duty telescoping pole to clean snow off my soar panels. I gave it 3 stars, because it works OK and does not damage the solar panels. IT could easily get 5 stars with just a couple of design changes:



It works OK on the lower part of the roof, but it's difficult on the higher parts, since the pole hits the edge before the brush makes good contact. If I back up enough for the pole to clear, I lose a lot of reach. I suggest having a bend near the end of the pole, as most other roof rakes have to provide clearance. This would also improve the "attack angle" of the brush, so it pulled itself down into loose snow, rather than riding on top of it. If you did bend the pole, you'd need a different mounting method, so the brush could be flipped to use both sides, since just turning the pole would no longer be an option. (otherwise, all of the wear would be on one edge of the brush).



My only other complaint is that the working edge gets torn up rather easily on the mounting bolts which stick up a bit from my solar panel. Small chunks were missing after only one use.



Despite the above, on the whole this is a fairly good product, and one of the few out there which does not damage the surface of solar panels, as so many other brands of roof rakes do.

I can now clean off my Solar Panels with ease.

I bought this to remove snow from our solar array without damage to the panels. Have only had to use twice, but seems to work well. I wish it were a bit larger but otherwise good.
